Hi, my name is Nysa Chaudhary. I am currently a Junior at The Webb School in Tennessee. As a child I grew up in the rural parts of India, where not everyone can afford medical care. My primary goal for this fundraiser is to be able to prescreen patients for cancer in the rural areas. In these areas symptoms of cancer go untreated and are ignored due to the lack of awareness and money. By being able to prescreen these patients, we can catch the cancer in the early stages and help them before it gets bad.

Purpose
Over the last decade the number of cancer patients have increased rapidly. The disease impacts all parts of the individuals life whether it be their relationship with family, with themselves, or with the outside world. If detected and treated early, cancer patients have proven to have a high survival rate and get the chance of living a normal life like most of us. Unfortunately, in the rural parts of India, almost 70% of the cancer patients are not diagnosed until it’s too late. This significantly decreases the chance of survival. To make things even harder for the patients and their families, cancer treatment is getting progressively more expensive. To help fix this issue, rural India needs a highly-skilled clinical team and a multi system infrastructure to provide the care these patients need. All the strategies that have been tried in the past to help have proven to be ineffective, unsuccessful, and not cost effective. Our goal is to successfully catch cancer in the early stages by having them prescreened.
